Someone asked about karma. “I have a friend who is good of heart yet he suffers often both by physical illnesses as well as poor circumstances, yet all he does is good to others, so why? Is it due to past life wrongdoing? Because it does not make sense seeing that others live carelessly and selfishly and luck seems to be on their side.”
Those who are initiated into the mysteries and know how the light overcomes darkness in its details know its reasons and purpose. For the uninitiated it’s sufficient to know that they do the suffering for you. Therefore be compassionate and grateful, not pitiful, not even empathic but compassionate, and lighten their burden they carry for you.
Ego is Latin for: I am he or she who thinks and feels. The he/she is the lie that is born from darkness.
The I am that I am is born in the light, she is the naked truth that ego fears most.
According to a 19th century legend, the Truth and the Lie meet one day. The Lie says to the Truth: “It’s a marvellous day today!” The Truth looks up to the skies and sighs, for the day was really beautiful. They spend a lot of time together, ultimately arriving beside a well. The Lie tells the Truth: “The water is very nice, let’s take a bath together!” The Truth, once again suspicious, tests the water and discovers that it indeed is very nice. They undress and start bathing. Suddenly, the Lie comes out of the water, puts on the Truth’s clothes and runs away. The furious Truth comes out of the well and runs everywhere to find the Lie and to get her clothes back. The World, seeing the Truth naked, turns its gaze away, with contempt and rage.
The poor Truth returns to the well and disappears forever, hiding therein its shame. Since then, the Lie travels around the world dressed as the Truth, satisfying the needs of society, because the World, in any case, harbours no wish at all to meet the naked Truth.
This dressed up lie we find in politics, in science and in religions dressed to show authority, their master, money, fame and power in any order. But in order to know truth we need to strip away this personalised idea of truth by ego who takes and/or rejects in accordance with his own ideas to which he is slave. During the last 10 years another is climbing up the ranks as cracks start to show in those that serve their master. Their tool behind the desire to take a piece of that cake is the pointing of fingers. This category is called spirituality! They call this finger pointing: awakening! Study the words of sages, dress it up with science and religion and promote wishful thinking! Act as if you already have it and it will come to you!
